See the Calories You're Eating with Calorie Gallery

I just stumbled across an interesting new tool I thought might be useful for everybody.

Making sure you're getting the right amount of calories (food energy) is essential for the success of any diet --- Raw or otherwise.

In my book, we talk about determining how many calories you personally need in a day, finding out how many you're getting, and whether it's enough.

When you start eating a raw-vegan diet, it can take a while to get used to how much fruit to eat.  You'll remember I recommend the website Nutridiary.com to help you do this.  Nutridiary offers many great tools for you and it's totally free.  To this point, it's the best option I've come across on the web.

Nutridiary does have one shortcoming, however.  It has no pictures.  Enter Calorie GalleryCalorie Gallery is an interesting site that takes a different approach to calorie counting.  As they say:

Calorie Gallery provides a visual representation of how many Calories are in the different foods we eat. We have pictures of hundreds of foods in 200 Calorie portions. By getting a sense of what 200 Calories looks like in a variety of foods, you'll be better at judging how many Calories are in the foods you eat every day.

If you're interested, take a look at their site, here.  At the time I'm writing this post, Calorie Gallery is still in Beta.  In other words, they haven't formally launched the site yet.  Nonetheless, it's already worth looking at.  If you're a visual learner, you might find this an easier way to break down your servings into something that makes sense.
